Challenge
Many SAP customers still hesitate to implement S/4HANA because of various reason. According to different market research results, almost 70 percent of all existing customers have not yet purchased licenses for S/4HANA – despite programs such as “Rise with SAP” that promise to make migration easier. And only 20 percent have at least one module in productive use.
One obstacle is complexity: Many companies use several ERP systems in parallel and have also configured the programs extensively individually. The switch to S/4HANA is therefore considered to be lengthy and costly. Transparency about the IT landscape is needed to accelerates transformations as well as successful implementations.
LeanIX platform enables customers to “measure” their IT landscape. LeanIX largely automatically records which programs are used in which versions and whether some of them are obsolete
Recent transformation approach
When starting with an SAP transformation initiative, you will need some tool support to manage it. That often was SAP Solution Manager in the past, often together with JIRA, Confluence, Office tools and some other e.g., to outline processes or create diagrams. With the rising complexity or hybrid SAP landscapes, this approach becomes more challenging. To manage complexity and pick up speed, agile and very well integrated solutions are often needed today that can keep up with the speed in the cloud.
Target architecture for SAP customers
The SAP landscape in the future will continue to be driven by business processes. The technology solution will be based on a S/4HANA with a clean core in the cloud and supplemented by BTP, partner- and industry cloud solutions.
Accelerate SAP transformation
What do you need to accelerate to confidently navigate your SAP RISE transformation? I think the most important things are:
- Design and implement SAP Suite Qualities for you
- Build your business and technical architecture based on SAP Golden Rules
To efficiently do you, you need to have a good understanding of your current landscape, your target architecture, and the way to it. To be successful within your transformation, it is crucial to have a powerful tool support for this it. This e.g., includes an End2End view for processes, integration and data architecture, technical platforms, project- and task management, KPI monitoring and many more.
There are several solutions to address these requirements. I think a very good idea is Business Transformation Suite based on Signavio and LeanIX together with Cloud ALM.
Business Transformation Suite
Closed with the acquisition of LeanIX, a leader in Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM), SAP aims to build a holistic Business Transformation Suite:
“Systems and processes go hand in hand,” said Christian Klein, CEO and Member of the Executive Board of SAP SE. “Together with LeanIX, we want to offer a first-of-its-kind transformation suite to provide holistic support to our customers on their business transformation journeys. Building on our decades of expertise, we’ll embed generative AI to offer self-optimizing applications and processes that can help businesses achieve key goals such as maximizing cash flow while minimizing their environmental impact.”
Signavio, LeanIX and Cloud ALM are all Cloud based applications with a clear focus on their strengths. By combing them, you can get the best benefit out for you. A prerequisite for this is good integration of these solutions
