Useful Excel functions for SuccessFactors administrators and implementation partners

Introduction

In the 4 recordings below we show some very useful Excel features or functions for SuccessFactors administrators and implementation partners.

 

 

#1- Always keep leading 0 in any file downloaded from SuccessFactors

 

 

 

#2- VLOOKUP to identify Supervisors without Supervisors (or doing other complex data checks between files).

  • The List of out of the box reports from People Analytics showed in the recording can be found here.
  • COUNTIF can also be useful, an example can be found at the bottom of this blog.in the “Hints for Automation” section (click on excel link).
  • The same can be done for SECOND_MANAGER and MATRIX_MANAGER columns (NO_MANAGER mandatory value doesn’t exist in those columns and is replaced by a blank).

 

 

 

#3- TEXTJOIN to build Variables more easily when building Business Rules (for EC, MDF, Compensation….)

 

 

 

 

#4- Highlighting Duplicate rows with several attributes even when they have wildcards (* or ?)
