Recently I learned about new concepts of SAP like S/4 HANA, SAP’s Activate Methodology, SAP Integrated Business Processes and how it is used in day-to-day business. SAP S/4 HANA is the 4th generation of SAP Business Suite primarily build in three layers i.e., database, application, and presentation layers. I also learned that S/4 HANA provides two basic options for implementation: Brownfield (More like an upgrade of an existing version) and Greenfield (New development or installation from scratch). ·Some common applications of SAP include SAP solutions, SAP BTP ABAP Environment, SAP ERP, SAP Analytics Cloud. SAP facilitates information flow and data processing across all parts of your business. This module also teaches about basics of SAP implementation which can be divided in the following basic steps which includes Project Preparation, Business Blueprint, Realization, Final Preparation, Go-Live and Support. Out of this, Go-Live and support is considered as one of the most important steps. Based on the above steps it becomes much clear on how to proceed before starting a development or installation. I also learned about SAP activate methodology which includes Discover, Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy and Run. It provides a clear step between customer and consultant to accomplish complex solutions in an easier way.In the Discover phase customer look for SAP landscape based on their requirement. In the prepare phase SAP activate methodology will provide timeline, preparations, and project planning. Going ahead in the Explore phase customer will finalize which business process is to be followed to start with the development. In the Realize phase SAP will breakdown the documents into small deliverables. Then we have the deploy phase where the code is deployed and checked as per requirement and then finally, we have the Run phase which marks the end of the development phase. Once this is done, the project moves on to the next phases. Following this methodology, I can speed up and improve complex solution implementation projects by providing clits. But three main benefits as per my understanding that is We have less risk, receiver higher quality and we can implement our project faster. I learned about a new technique known as SAP Integrated Business Process which is a cloud-based solution. It helps companies forecast their sales and revenue to increase or maximize their profit with the use of simple and profitable manner. It provides different types of modules. One such example is Supply Chain Control Tower. With this, businesses can achieve end-to-end visibility on all levels which includes strategic, tactical, and operational, all in real-time. With the clarity of all these steps, it has become easier for me to understand the process and the timeline generally followed by SAP to complete a development. A much better understanding how a customer connects with a SAP consultant and goes ahead with it. |
