Our company uses SAP S4 Hana as the ERP system. We run into a problem recently about how to appropriately set up the wells- cost centers for subsidiaries.
Due a recent merger, We own some wells that multiple subsidiaries have interest in. According to out SAP consultant, we need to set up one cost center for each subsidiary. That is, when there’re 5 subsidiaries that have interest in one well, 5 cost centers will be set up.
But that seems a awkward and can potentially cause lot of problems. The 3rd party we used is not from SAP, but a 3rd party. We wonder if they gave the right advice. I wonder if SAP allows to just set up one cost center for one well and have multiple subsidies joining the deck with their owner number. Could you please confirm how this should be handled?
