Introduction: In this Blog we will learn about the Relationship between Door location group – Storage type location group.
Configuration to maintain Door to Storage type relationship:-
As per the SAP help for ‘Define Location group relationship’, Yard can be configured for auto selection of Door based on the Door Location group and Storage type Location Group. Screenshot as below:-
In ECC Sandbox, following setting are made to test the functionality:-
- Define Yard Location:-
Path – SAP Customizing Implementation Guide ->Logistics Execution->Yard Management->Yard Map-> Define Yard Locations.
- Define Door:-
Path:-SAP Customizing Implementation Guide ->Logistics Execution->Yard Management->Yard Map-> Define Doors.
Maintained the Location groups & Storage types for the Door separately.
- Assign Storage Types to Yard Location Groups:-
Path: – SAP Customizing Implementation Guide->Logistics Execution->Yard Management->Yard Map->Assign Storage Types to Yard Location Groups
Maintained respective Location groups for storage types.
- Define Location Group Relationships
Maintain relationship between the Door Location Group and Related Location group.
- Material Master:-
Maintained two materials for the two separate storage types 101 and 201 with fixed bins maintained.
- For Part Number 988 –
Storage type search indicator – 101
Fixed bin – 01-01-04.
- For Part Number 989 –
Storage type search indicator – 102
Fixed bin – 01-01-01

Storage type search sequence:-
- Creation of two separate inbound deliveries for the above mentioned Material numbers.
Two Inbound Deliveries created:-
IBD – 180001993 for part no 988
IBD – 180001994 for part no 989
Both assigned to separate vehicles and checked in.
When scheduled for Door movement, both the vehicles got scheduled to the respective doorsreferring to their Storage types.
