2H 2023 Release – Validation to ensure all job requisition templates have mappings when posting

What’s coming in 2H 2023:

In the 2H 2023 release, users will receive a validation message if a job requisition template does not have a job field mapping, to help recruiters identify and fill in missing or incorrect fields before publishing a job to both internal and external career sites. This change is applicable to SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting instances that have Career Site Builder (CSB) enabled.

Why is there a change in behaviour:

To prevent job posting failures, we have introduced this capability to prompt the user of an issue when trying to post a job to the company career site if the requisition template they are using does not have an associated mapping. Mapping fields on the “Setup Recruiting Marketing Job Field Mapping” page in Admin Center defines what data from the job requisition will be passed to CSB for use on the careers site.

Previously, if a job requisition template did not have a mapping, then the system selects data from a default set of fields from the job requisition. This information is not easily reviewed by the recruiter and may result in incorrect posting information. If data cannot be found on these default fields, then the job posting will fail without any warning for the recruiter. This has led to inconsistencies in job posting and potential complications for recruiters.

With the 2H 2023 release, we have made it mandatory for customers to maintain a mapping for every active job requisition template that is posted, so that they are always in control of the data that is published to job postings.

How to know if a job requisition template doesn’t have a mapping:

What will happen if you don’t have a mapping?

When a recruiter posts a job from the “Job postings” tab of the requisition by pushing the “Post Job” button, (or if you are posting jobs using OData API’s, for example – via Integration Center) an error message will be shown. A sample error message is shown below:

Jobs that are already posted to a career site will continue to work. The validations will show up for jobs that are being newly posted or re-posted after the 2H 2023 release.

What do you need to do?

To prevent error messages, you will need to maintain a mapping for requisition templates. Navigate to the “Setup Recruiting Marketing Job Field Mapping” page in the Admin Center. Select the job requisition template in use and then select Recruiting Management Fields that need to be mapped against Recruiting Marketing Fields and save the configuration.
