I’m looking for a way to stay updated with the evolving SAP Reference Business Architecture (RBA)?
Knowing how to contact those at SAP responsible for creating and updating the RBA would be incredibly helpful. I already have a solid understanding of the SEAF methodology and its application. For those interested, you can gain a good understanding through the methodology guide and its application via the learning path applying the SEAF.
My challenge is staying informed about changes to the content of process and capability decompositions and their relationships. The entities and relationships are illustrated in this diagram.
An older “published” version of the content is available via Signavio Process Explorer.
I mention “older version” because our instance of LeanIX has access to the RBA as a reference catalogue, which has many updates over what I see on Signavio Process Explorer. For example, the LeanIX capability catalogue shows that “Global Trade Management” has been renamed to “International Trade Management” and the three business capabilities under the original name are now deprecated and replaced with seven other business capabilities:
Originally:
- Global Trade Management
- Export Management and Control
- Import Management and Control
- Preference Management
An example of the three deprecated items has an exclamation with the note “Export Management and Control is linked to an outdated version of the business capability from the catalog.”
The catalog now has:
- International Trade Management
- Export Management
- Import Management
- Intrastat Declaration Management
- Sanctioned Party Screening
- Trade Compliance Management
- Trade Preference Management
- Trade Product Classification Management
As per the entities and relationships diagram, there should be related Business Activities in the RBA. There may even be updates to business process segments as well! What I’m looking for is a way to access the very latest RBA (process model, capability model, relationships between). It is not helpful to only have access to the updated capability model.
The issue is that we also use SAP Signavio, which is integrated with our SAP LeanIX. We have imported the latest RBA sgx into our Signavio dev environment, but it is not up to date with what we see in LeanIX. I have exported all the dictionary derivatives to deeply analyse the data contained. I realize that Signavio and LeanIX are recent acquisitions for SAP and things will likely get sorted over time, but in the meantime, I really could use access to the full model, even if in Excel format.
Does anyone have an idea who to connect with regarding keeping up-to-date with RBA changes?
Here’s the entity and relationships diagram. I’m specifically interested in keeping up to date with the RBA. The RSA is a bonus but not essential as we’ve already chosen SAP solutions for many of the capabilities e.g. Ariba, S4, etc.
